If you follow Aceable on social media, then you’ve probably seen snapshots of daily life at our office. These usually involve but are not limited to: dogs, scarfing ceremonies, waterbottle flipping, American flag onesies and a talkshow called “Joshin’ Around.” While we also do a lot — A LOT — of hard work to make Aceable the fastest-growing drivers ed company in the nation, we like to have fun, too. Here’s a peek at a day in the life at Aceable. Who knows? Maybe one day you’ll work at Aceable, too.
8 a.m. Rise and shine. Log on to Aceable’s chat tool to help answer questions from students and parents. Feel flattered after you reset a student’s password and they call you the real MVP. Brag to coworkers about your MVP status.
9 a.m. Make coffee.
9:07 a.m. Accidentally put too much water in coffee maker and call to coworker for help. Have coworker remake coffee because you are incompetent. Realize you may not be the MVP at everything.
9:14 a.m. Fueled by the sweet nectar of Anderson’s Coffee, focus on how to provide the best online drivers ed and defensive driving experience.
9:15 a.m. See “lit” used on Twitter. Look it up on Urban Dictionary.
9:16 a.m. Wonder what your boss would say if you made the website headline “Drivers Ed That’s Lit.”
9:17 a.m. Decide this is not the best move.
9:45 a.m. Break from work to pet an office dog. Take Snapchat of dog using puppy filter and post it on Aceable’s story. Wonder if anyone else will find this as amusing as you. Watch own Snapchat story five-plus times.
10:30 a.m. Discuss the latest T-Swift feud with Kanye/Kim/Calvin/Katy/Demi. Request to be office DJ and play “Bad Blood” over the Sonos.
11 a.m. Attend meeting about new features for the Aceable app. Ask developers if possible to create a T-Swift mode for app. Get denied.
12:00 p.m. Suggest grabbing lunch via office messaging system by using the breaded shrimp emoji, plus the taco emoji, plus a question mark. Wait for coworkers to respond with raise-the-roof emoji.
12:15 p.m. Finally reach a decision on whether to go to Wahoo’s or Whole Foods for lunch. Attempt to cram team into elevator en route to lunch. Realize elevator is too small and must walk down six flights of stairs instead, like a plebeian.
2:30 p.m. Go on team “Spro” run to Juan Pelota Cafe. Wonder if you should order the Lavender Latte or Watermelon Agua Fresca. It’s a tough call. They’re so different.
2:40 p.m. Team “Spro” run accidentally turns into a Pokemon hunt. After a brief intermission, return to work.
3:00 p.m. Check Instagram and congratulate all of today’s students who were #LicensedWithAceable.
4:00 p.m. Hop over to help out the Cert Operations Team. Try to count all the permit certificates that will be sent out to recent Aceable graduates today.
4:05 p.m. Lovingly whisper: “You’re going to a new home. Help them be Aceable on their driving test” to each certificate before mailing.
4:15 p.m Do more work while listening to Rihanna’s “Work Work Work” on the office Sonos. Start mandatory dance.
4:17 p.m. Lose count of permit certificates mailed today due to Ri Ri, but it’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 250-300.
4:30 p.m. Google “Rihanna Drake dating” for the 47th time.
5 p.m. Nourish oneself with a handful of Cheez-Its.
6 p.m. Leave office and say goodnight to customer service heroes who will be working til 9 p.m. Grab another handful of Cheez-Its on way out.
9 p.m. Customer service heroes call it an evening. See y’all tomorrow!
