Aceable Drivers Ed recently raised more than $350 for non-profit organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving in a social media campaign that involved dozens of participants.
In April, Aceable pledged to donate $3 for every selfie posted on social media with the number 53 and hashtag #53Minutes. The reasoning? Every 53 minutes someone is killed in drunk driving crash, and Aceable wanted to spread awareness about the devastating statistic.
More than 100 people posted a selfie, often sharing with their pictures the stories of loved ones who were killed in drunk driving crashes. Members of the MADD Victim Support Facebook group as well as Miss Texas 2016 Contestant Amber Smith led the campaign, encouraging friends and family to participate.
In addition to donating proceeds to MADD, Aceable is adding new content to its Teen Drivers Ed course with pictures from the #53Minutes campaign. The goal of the new content is to help young drivers fully understand the importance of being sober behind the wheel. Check out a few photos from the campaign below.
