Get your permit at the DPS

Before heading to the DPS, we will send you a checklist of all the items you’ll need to bring with you. At the DPS, you will just take an eye exam.

Complete your instructor-led driving hours

Complete your 44 hours of in-car driving practice (14 with your professional instructor) along with the 2-hour the Impact Texas Teen Drivers program on the DPS website. Your driving school will give you your final certificate, which you'll use to get your license!
