Welcome to Aceable’s step-by-step guide to Garland’s DPS offices! This guide breaks down the local Texas Department of Public Safety office scene so you’ll know just where to go to get your learner’s permit, renew your Texas driver license, or to take your road test.

Garland has two Texas Department of Public Safety offices: a normal DPS office and a Mega Center. Both Garland DPS offices feature the ability for you to schedule your driving test beforehand. Road tests must be scheduled, so use the “Schedule Your Driving Test” button if you are looking to get your driver’s license. The Mega Center is pretty special as it also offers an online option for you to “Get in Line” before you leave home, so you can save yourself time from waiting in line.

TX DPS Pro Tip 1: Check the DPS website before you leave. You might be able to satisfy your DPS needs online, like printing your driving record.

TX DPS Pro Tip 2: If the wait lines for Garland DPS are too long, check out other DPS offices in Dallas County or Fort Worth for shorter wait times. They’d love to help out a Texas driver like yourself too!
