The 10 Most Annoying Things About Riding the School Bus

Sure, there was once a time when riding the school bus was actually fun. There was nothing more exciting than seeing that big yellow bus pull up to your stop. Your bus driver was actually nice and knew your name, and you got to sit next to your best friend and giggle over all of your inside jokes.

But riding the school bus when you’re a high school student? That’s a whole different ball game...and not a fun one. Here are the top 10 most annoying things about the school bus.

Finding gross food under the seat (or worse--ON the seat)

Seriously, who thought eating a tuna sandwich on a hot school bus would be a good idea? Gross.

That couple that always makes out in the back

We get it. You like each other.

The mean bus driver

You still can’t figure out how he can see what you’re doing, no matter what seat you’re in. Unless of course you're one of the lucky ones with a cool bus driver.

That one kid who won’t stop talking

I'm trying to listen to this new album, can you just not?

Middle school bullies are the worst, but somehow, high school bullies come with a whole new side of nasty--especially if they’re older than you. (P.S. bullying totally isn't cool and you should always tell someone if you're experiencing it and try to stand up for others!)

Missing the bus altogether

Aaaaand that’s another tardy. Say goodbye to your GPA.

The smell

Old cracked leather and at least 30 different types of B.O.? Mmm!

Not getting to budge the windows

What is this, prison?

The germs

Did we mention 30 different types of B.O.?

That dreaded moment when you have to sit three people to a seat

One has a violin, the other has a science fair project, and you’re just here with your sliver of space.

Yeah, I'll walk.

But hey! There’s hope.
