Do you know the rules for giving right of way? Well, you're about to. Watch this video to learn what to do at intersections for safe driving.
When navigating an intersection, there's a few things you'll need to do. First and foremost, you need to STOP. But do you know who should yield and who gets to go first after that? Let’s break it down. Check out the 360 video below. On a desktop? Click and drag the screen to look around. On your phone? Move your device from side to side or up and down.
Whoever stops at the intersection first has the right of way, them's the breaks (pun intended). If you arrive after someone, you have to yield until it's your turn to go. No matter if you're turning left, turning right, or going straight, you should always be aware of who gets to the intersection first to know who gets to leave first.
If you get to an intersection at the same time as someone, the person on the left yields to the person on the right. So if you’re on the right, you get to go first. If not, then you should let the other person go.
When it comes to right of way, be a giver, not a taker.
safe-driving C'mon, Rick. Don't be like that.
But don't be shy about taking what's yours. If you're always giving everyone right of way all willy-nilly, you're gonna cause intersection confusion. Just follow the rules and you'll be able to navigate intersections like a pro.
