Hot days, balmy nights, the smell of hot dogs and nachos in the morning, afternoon, and evening…it is officially baseball season! Here are the 25 best high school baseball stadiums and fields in California.

 

1. John Calderwood Field (Carpinteria)

This gorgeous field is located on Highway 101 and is surrounded by some of the most magnificent views in all of California.

2. California High School

The field, completed in 2015, boosts California’s athletic facilities to one of the best in Class 3 in the state.

3. Notre Dame High School

The baseball stadium cost a hefty $3 million, and hosted Neil Diamond at its inauguration.

4. Bellarmine College Prep

The renovations were part of an $8 million project to transform Bellarmine’s existing athletic fields into state-of-the-art facilities.

5. Valley Christian High School

Valley Christian’s baseball team is currently ranked number #1 in the Bay Area.

6. Huntington Beach High

This field was bestowed a new archway that came as part of improvements made to the field in 2015.

7. Palo Alto High School

As part of a $12.8 million project, improvements were made at the Gunn campus ‘Lower Fields’ for baseball, softball, and a multi-use and soccer field.

8. O’Malley Family Field (Harvard-Westlake)

The recently renovated baseball complex features professional grade turf, drainage and irrigation systems, dugouts, bullpens, clubhouse, and a covered hitting facility behind the right-field fence.

9. Glendale Sports Complex

Glendale Sports Complex is home to St. Francis High School’s baseball team. The complex includes two artificial-turf soccer fields, three baseball fields and a softball field, a concession stand and restroom building as well as a meeting room.

10. Cleve Borman Field – Yountville, Calif.

Cleve Borman Field is a historic field and extremely important for veterans; the field sits on the grounds of the Veterans Home of California, Yountville. In addition to Vintage and Napa High, this field also hosts the California finals for the American Legion baseball.

11. El Dorado High School Field

El Dorado has an impressive list of baseball alumni, including Bret Boone, Phil Nevin, and Brett Tomko.

12. Los Gatos High School

Los Gatos High School’s field in the Wildcat Stadium was newly constructed as part of a $4.4 million project.

13. Saratoga High School

The high school has a new synthetic turf field with backstop, dugouts and seating, as part of a $5.05 million project.

14. Willow Glen High School

Willow Glen’s baseball team won a CCS championship in 2013.

15. Eastlake High School

A complete renovation of this field included a complete reconstruction of the existing natural turf field to a vertically drained, infilled synthetic turf surface.

16. JSerra High School

The new field is natural grass in the infield and outfield, which will require less manpower and lower maintenance costs while improving the overall appearance and playability.

18. Tim Moellering Field (Berkeley High School)

Completed in 2013, the Tim Moellering Field is a multi-use sport field, including a baseball field, soccer field, basketball courts, and other site amenities to be used by Berkeley High School, Berkeley Technology Academy, and other community sport groups.

21. De La Salle

The baseball diamond has a natural grass infield and outfield, with views of Mt. Diablo from the bleachers behind home plate and with sunken dugouts for each team.

22. Cupertino High School

The open field was remodeled in 2011.

According to the OC Register, “The park is as professional looking as any college stadium, with large dugouts and locker rooms and bright green fencing with a foothill as the batter’s backdrop.”
