Now is an exciting time. You're getting ready to get your driver's license and get safely on the road. You will need to visit two different Cleveland BMV offices to complete all the steps toward getting your license to drive. First-time Ohio drivers also need to take and finish a course at one of the BMV-approved driving schools in Cleveland, Ohio.
Getting a Driver's License in Cleveland, Ohio
Once you turn 15 years and six months old, you can start the process to get a probationary license. This is your stepping stone to an Ohio driver's license. To get going, you require a temporary instruction permit card (TIPIC).
Be prepared for your TIPIC and taking the steps you need to take to become a fully licensed Ohio driver. First, you'll need to make sure you have your necessary ID documents. The Ohio BMV has a list of what you'll need.
Next, you'll need to make an appointment to take your knowledge test and vision test. These tests take place at an Ohio BMV Driver Exam Station. This is the same location where you'll take your behind-the-wheel driver's test once you're ready.
The driving, knowledge, and vision tests to get a license to drive in Ohio are free. You can find sample knowledge tests and study materials on the Ohio BMV website.
