In case y’all didn’t know, Aceable is based in Austin, Texas. Allow to me clarify a few things first:
- No, we do not ride horses to work. We prefer longhorns.
- Yes, we have a healthy obsession with football. Stadium nachos are part of our balanced diets.
So you can bet your boots every last one of us attended a Super Bowl watch party. Some of us are sports ball fanatics. Some of us were just there for the chips, guac, and southern hospitality. We also had a group of weirdos who just wanted to watch Super Bowl ads.
Well maybe they’re not that weird, because some of those commercials were actually very entertaining. Since you’re probably already arguing about the big game results with everyone you meet, we’re gonna play it safe and talk about our top 10 favorite car commercials of all time instead, not including the ones that were just aired.
1. Hyundai – “Ryanville”
Remember that Spongebob episode where Squidward moves to a squid-only town called Tentacle Acres? This ad is the same thing, only with Ryan Reynolds, who’s slightly more attractive than Squidward.
2. Toyota – “The Longest Chase”
Are you the twisted mind who cheers for the bad guys while watching a movie? This ad was made for you.
3. Subaru – “Jr. Driver”
Do I know how to raise a child? No. Do I want to adopt the little dude in this commercial anyways? Yes.
4. Volkswagen – “The Force”
And don’t even get me started on this menacing child who needs to be in the next Star Wars film.
5. Kia – “Walken Closet”
Watch this one if you like puns. If you don’t like puns, I hope you’re wearing boots that were made for walken, because there’s the door.
6. Audi – “Comeback”
Warning: This commercial will make you feel emotions you never knew existed and may renew your childhood obsession with dinosaurs. Viewer discretion is advised.
7. Hyundai – “First Date”
Kevin Hart knows when you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.
8. Lincoln – “Bull”
Y’all best believe we’re feelin’ alright, alright, alright about having a longhorn and Matthew McConaughey in one commercial.
9. Honda – “The Cog”
This Rube-Goldberg-style commercial took 4 months of prep time and 70 takes.
10. Volkswagen – “Big Day”
This one’s an oldie but a goodie.
Sorry for leaving you with a cliffhanger like that. I should have warned you to emotionally prepare yourself, but I wanted to see the look on your face.
Do you really want to buy a car all of a sudden? One of those ads sure did its job! If you’re still speechless from watching that last one, fear not! You can find discounted prices on thousands of cars without talking to a dealer at TrueCar.
